Final Year

There’s always a rainbow after the rain, and the sun will always come again. After struggled with the hardest trimester, now the journey is about to come at the end of the tunnel. Surprisingly, I feel fall in love with this management and business things and I’m happy with all of my final subjects.

You cannot realize that the time flies so fast when you really like to do it. I really enjoy doing every assignments, every exams, all of those learning process that I’ve through recently. No matter how boring the class, it’s always bring a new insight for me. Previously I just know the general things about business, achieving profit, getting more customers, others basic things that people know without having degree in business. But now I learn more, I know the difference between sales and marketing, finance and accounting, legal and compliance, how to benchmark the performance, assessing the project, bearish or bullish, and loooots things that I’ve learnt. Just wondering, if someday I get chance to feel the real work experience after finished my MBA :)

I feel excited and grateful.
After all being here is not merely accelerate my journey, I should continue to learn more, I have to climb the ladder.
Thanks for all, my lecturers and classmates! Good luck for all of us

H-5 Eid

But, that’s your life, you own your life so be happy with that. Kalau memang belum jawab aja belum, kalau ditanya “kok belum?” minta aja didoain.

Family time is more precious than the questions :)

Enjoy your family time and be happy on this Eid!

Persoalan 1#: Air Minum

Ceritanya di kelas marketing lagi pada bahas target market lah, marketing strategy lah, I feel little bit bored during presentation time, untungnya group yang presentasi hari itu baik banget bawain refreshment biar kita enjoy dengerin presentasi mereka.

Be grateful Indonesians, we have lots of great natural water resources!

What I Think: “Be Yourself”

“Be yourself” terms is not as easy as it sounds, living around society which practically there’s a lot of norms and value that I should consider when I wanna do something are the most of my *sigh* moment.

Mau jadi diri sendiri tapi nyatanya dirinya jadi merugikan orang lain, masih berlaku gak terms “be yourself” tadi?

Adjust yourself, open your mind. But still don’t let your good deeds go away. No matter what you do, don’t hurt people around you

Kuala Lumpur, Graduate School of Management-IIUM

Almost a year I never update my blog! hahahaha. Either lazy to write or too focus with my ‘next-chapter’ in real life.

However, life after graduation never as easy as I expected. For a “good” reasons, I have to change my plan to continue my study in Russia. Last year became one of the winding road for me, leave the job, leave Russia, tossed around try to find the new destination. Depressed? of course, but not for a long time :)

In the end of 2012, finally I’m move to the new chapter of my life, I start my master degree in Malaysia, in Graduate School of Management IIUM precisely. Why here? one of the reasons is by virtue of the international atmosphere in this school, I can feel the living experiences not only with Malaysian but also with the other foreigners. For some cases, if I want to travel to one of their countries so I can ask many things directly before going there. Is that a good information that you can get from the trust one?  LOL :p

Although this is new for me, with all of this business things, calculation that I never touched for almost 4 years. I love it! I realize that I ever wish to learn this before. While in my degree before I learnt from the political and social side, now I learn more on the economics and management side. So far, I enjoy my life here and hope it would be enlighten for the next path.

Mabuhay! Escape Trip at Luzon Island, Philippines

Hi readers, so sorry for the late update, anyhow this time I will share about my experience in Philippines. Enjoy!

aah, if you didn’t understand with the language, just copy paste to your translator device, ok ;)

Map of Philippines from en.wikipilipinas.org

Anyway, this is it.. what I get from my short travel time in Philippines:

1. Metro Manila

This is the biggest melting pot in Philippines, bustling city, skycrapper, and also traffic jam, so be careful with your time management, travelers. Trapped and stuck for 4 hours is common happens here :(

Quite similar with Jakarta city in Indonesia, but Manila have their own uniqueness, near NAIA (Nino Aquino International Airport) there’s a entertainment building which seems like Genting-Malaysia and Resort World-Singapore, the Pinoy reflect modernities from these two countries.

2. Intramuros

magnificient building of Asian-Europe mixture architecture! FYI, akses ke intramuros cukup membingungkan kalau kita belum pernah kesana, contact your friends there or booked a city tour from your hostel will be great I think

3. Mall of Asia-Manila Bay

4. Taal Lake and Volcano

Taal Volcano is the smallest volcano in the world, located at Talisay city, Batangas province. It takes about two hours from/to Manila. To reach Taal Volcano, first we should rent a small boat (the price around 1500 PHP/route) because the volcano located in the middle of lake which called as Taal Lake.  After that, we should pay for entrance and the next option you can rent a horse or walking to climb those mountain.

oh, I miss Philippines now

Explore the Penang Island, Malaysia

Hi again travellers and my loyal readers, this time I will try to share my travel experience in Penang Island. Basically, Penang has two different places, they are Penang Mainland and Penang Island, both of them connected by Penang Bridge. To explore Penang Island, you should know several cities which have the tourism attraction, in my trip namely George Town, Batu Ferringhi, Tanjung Bungah, Teluk Bahang, Air Itam, and Bayan Lepas. What we could see at there? Here they are a little brief about it ;)

1. George Town

They have a lot of fascinating heritage sites, mostly various religion place just like temple, church, or mosque. The famous example is Kapitan Keling mosque, Sri Maha Mariamman temple, St. Georges church (private property), Goddess of Mercy temple, church of Assumption (idk why they called assumption, anybody know? :p). We can also see the Penang Peranakan Mansion and the Cheong Fat Tze (the blue wall), they are so beautiful to see. In the morning, we can see the street market near Chinatown (between lebuh chulia and lebuh muntri). And you can explore it all by walk/tricycle/CAT shuttle bus by RapidPenang (it’s free public transport service from the government to attract the tourist, but only available for exploring George Town).

2. Air Itam and Tanjung Bungah

From George Town we can take bus RapidPenang from Lane 2 in Komtar (this is the place where we can find any bus route around Penang Island) to go Air Itam and Tanjung Bungah. In Tanjung Bungah, there are Botanic Garden and Youth Park. While in Air Itam is more interesting in my opinion, they have Penang Hill which we can try to go to the top of the hill by trem/railway. To use the trem, they charge us 30 RM for foreigners, but only 4 RM for students and locals, so if you are a student make sure you didn’t forget to show your student card to get the cheap price. I highly recommended to visit Penang Hill when you travelling in Penang. In addition, not far from Penang Hill we can take Rapid Penang bus to stop at Kek Lok Si and Kuan Yin temple, gorgeous views from there. Not far from there, we can try Laksa Penang (seems like streetfood soup with sour taste) and the Nutmeg Juice.

just 1 RM to see the whole of Penang from the top

3. Batu Ferringhi, Teluk Bahang, and Bayan Lepas

Batu Ferringhi and Teluk Bahang are located in the west side, but Bayan Lepas located in the south side near the airport and bus terminal to go to the other part of Malaysia, so Bayan Lepas will be compatible for the last destination in Penang. Batu Ferringhi is a well known tourism place because their beach mostly have a big stone and the night market around the beach which offering the cheap souvenir, shirt, and others. We can take Rapid Penang bus number 101 or 102 to reach there, the bus also through the Butterfly Farm, Tropical Fruit Farm, and the last will be stop at Penang National Park. If we want to go airport from Teluk Bahang there is bus number 102 which go to Komtar first and continue to go Penang International Airport through Bayan Lepas. In Bayan Lepas, we can visit the Snake Temple (but, I didn’t been there and never want to visit there because my phobia with snake :p)

Still curious about Penang? Visit there or you can ask me via email, martamatrioshka [at] gmail [dot] com
